Attributes not working properly
« on: March 03, 2008, 09:32:30 AM »
can anybody take a look at theses.

The DB's for GRAIN & EDGE seem to work properly through any insertion method.

But the DB's for SECTION, VIEW & AFF all have something wrong with them.  If I insert through the insert command they work fine.  If I put them on the tool pallet and insert at lookup value 12" = 1' they work fine.  But if I put them on the tool pallet and tell the to insert at lookup value say 3/4" = 1' the drawing portion of the block comes in properly but the attribute portion scales all out of wack.  I've rebuilt and messed with these to death and can't figure them out.

The attached zip has a quick video showing roughly what I'm running into.  Also in the zip is the dwg file containing the DB's

Your saying if you put them on the tool pallet and set the lookup property to say 3/4" = 1' all works fine?

What version are you using? any service packs?

Yep, it seemed to work fine.  However I might not have been doing it exactly like you are.  I tried to follow your directions.  I'm on 2006, not sure about service packs as I'm not at work right now.

Will,
I appreciate you trying to help.

regardless of service pack just try this...

Drag the DB onto the Tool Pallet.

Right click it on the Tool Pallet and changet the lookup property to be anything other than 12" = 1'

3/4" = 1' rescales it enough to notice if it is working or not.

Basically I only have the problem when I insert at a larger Lookup scale.  The attributes get scaled way too big.

Mine seems to be correct.

Does this look right to you?

I don't really know what to tell you other than to recreate the block.  Does this happen with all your blocks or just that one?  If it happens to all of them then it's not the block, it's a setting some where.

Yes it looks correct but that one is already working properly.

The ones called LCC_AFF, LCC_SECTION-ELEVATION & LCC_VIEW are the ones that are not working.

At this point it only seemn to be these 3, but it is these 3 on every machine.  And I have tried rebuilding them with the same incorrect results.  Unfortunately I am the only one in the office who knows anything about dynamic blocks so nobody else is really able to help trouble shoot this one.

It is like the attributes are scaling once through the lookup embeded in the DB (correct) and then a second time through the property on the tool pallet (no, no non, I don't want this).

do you have a minute to take a second look...

the one in yellow which is inserted from the tool pallet with the lookup state set to any scale other than 12" = 1' is the one that is resulting in problems.

Yeah, I see the problem now.  Give me just a minute to look at it.

Luke, I tried it on AutoCAD 2008 and wasn't able to reproduce your problem.

Did you try ATTSYNC command and pick on the problematic block?
