r13 was no problem plotting . . . 2000's changes though, kept us using r13 until a new plotter forced the change in 2005

Wow, what timing.

I've been reading through the menus and manuals on this HP500 that's sitting in my office trying to figure out why "blue" prints "purple"... I'd shelved the problem, but it's weird.

I've had the same problem ever since we've had the Designjet 500 - I've always attributed it to the RGB on screen vs. CMYK on paper, but it's pretty bad.  Good thing I'm not a graphic artist or I'd be really peeved.  From what I can gather, it looks like a firmware update is the way to go, but I'm a little hesitant because I don't want to brick the machine.  JFYI, my firmware version A.02.14.

I have to say that HP's support is pretty terrible.  Let me know if you break any ground on that issue.

I sure will, but I find it has to be a problem with HP.  The electrical firm in the building has another deskjet 11x17 printer that does the same thing.. an HP.  It bugs us, mainly, because it's our company logo that's supposed to be blue!  Instead it's ... purple.  May as well dust some glitter on it and draw a unicorn by it

I'd benched the problem for now but will have to address it sometime.

I guess all I can do to help is throw this out here. It only handles ModelSpace plots but easily modifiable. It's also quite crude and rudimentary, but thats me to a tee. Also, there are some tie-ins to a database that can be addressed as you wish.
