Thanks sinc, I think it was a post of yours I followed to get rid of that useless (I better not say moronic or anything too heavy, I'm too thin skinned) commcenter. I thank you for the post but I was wondering if turning it off in the registry causes the wobbler.

Changing the following registry entry to "0" will disable auto loading of the comm center. We are planning on doing this company wide, as alot of the Autocad freeze up's we are seeing are directly related to it.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R17.1\ACAD-6001:409\Applications\InfoCenterAcConn]
"LOADCTRLS"=dword:00000000
"LOADER"="C:\\Program Files\\AutoCAD 2008\\AcInfoCenterConn.DLL"
"DESCRIPTION"="AutoCAD InfoCenterAcConn addin"
"MANAGED"=dword:00000001

This is for Autocad 2008, the "R17.1" string in the key address will be different for different versions of Autocad.

I'll have to try that.  I tried turning Comm Center off in the CadManagerControl\CommunicationCenter\EnableCommunicationCenter key, but it doesn't seem to stop that crash that happens after C3D shuts down.

I think I stopped it too well. I get this error message everytime I open cad now.

I get zero errors using the sledge hammer file renaming technique. Maybe you can revert your registry mods etc. and try the sledge hammer kludge.

I had already done that, perhaps I shouldn't have done the same to  WSCommCntr1.exe in autodesk shared
