Arx file Question
« on: January 10, 2008, 09:37:28 AM »
Is there away to have this version open OLD ARX files? We want to use a program which only works with old 2004 version. Or am I just missing something, and it does work?

 Thanks!

Unfortunatly from time to time Autodesk break what is called binary compatibility - this is when they change Compiler versions, drawing version etc. This stops ARX's working and requires them to be recompiled (and usually more). An arx for 2004 release should work on AutoCAD 2004/05/06 based applications but not 2007/08.

Unfortunately, I can confirm this, I have finally gotten a hold of the developer of one that we have and am working with them to resolve the issues, it is a lot more than just recompiling unfortunately.
