First Plat (C3D)
« on: December 19, 2007, 08:17:53 PM »
Well....  I managed to complete our first plat and get it our the door in 15 hours with C3D.  It is a golf course and there is no way that I would have been able to get through this without the help of all you Swamp members!  So a big THANK YOU from me and the rest of our staff for all suggestions and assistance that you guys have offered!

Have a great holiday season!

Okay, here are some pictures...  I've excluded the company name for obvious reasons and it isn't my best work since it was my first with C3D, but the point is, it got the job done!  9 Pages in about 15 hours of time, not too bad and I expect it to get much better with time.

Congrats!

If you're like me, then in about three or four months (right around the time you completely forgot what you did in this one), the boss will come in and say, "Hey, can you send that plat to so-and-so in Autocad format?  They're using Land Desktop 2005."

that's great! it took me about 1,000 parcels (5 site plans over many iterations) back a few years ago in Civil 3D 2006 to get everything straight in my head. After that, it's cake and you can do it in your sleep. The rhythm gets easier and you start to almost reverse engineer the program's thought process.

Keep up the good work.
