The only suggestion I have is to make an .html file and place it in the lilly pond then link to it from your post. It looks like there is way to much html formatting for this software to handle.

Mark, please excuse my ignorance, but I've never used the Lilly pond. I just went there and it looks like some users have their own folders...do i need to make my own or is there some other incantation I need to use? I noticed a login section down the bottom of the page...

Cheers,
Glenn.

Mark,

Is this what you had in mind?

Glenn, I took the liberty to create a folder in the Lilly Pond for you, move your html file and redirect your link. It's not a big deal as you could clearly see that there are a bunch of file that would do well with a better home, but I thought you might like to have your own folder for such purposes. The code looks very nice, however. If you would prefer your folder name to not have caps, I can oblige. As for how it all works, yes it is necessary for a moderator or admin to create a folder for you. You don't however need to have a password or login. That area is intended for admin's only. Just upload your files to your folder. It's quite simple. Just go into your folder before uploading, otherwise your things may end up in the wrong area.

Thanks Daron.

This all stems from a conversation Mark and I have been having over the last hour about code posting.
I found an add-in for Visual Studio today called Copy Source As Html or CSAH for short.

You install it, then in Visual Studio 2005, highlight code then right-click->Copy as HTML. This preserves all the code formatting, colouring, highlighting etc.
I was asking Mark if this could be done on the forum, but he doesn't seem to think it could be...it does look very pretty however :)

Cheers,
Glenn.

Yeah, I tried to see if it were possible with the current BB codes. I didn't try every option though. Wouldn't just posting it in the code tags keep the formatting or are you looking for the numbers too? I wonder if it could be turned into flash, then insert it that way? Just a thought.

Reply #1 above is where I tried posting it in the code tags, but as you can see, it didn't work.
I don't think it's a matter of keeping the formatting (I think it's doing that too well), it's how it's interpreted and rendered
in the browser which is the kicker...it's taking the HTML code as literal text I think.

Maybe the solution is just to post files in the lilly pond and link.......

Cheers,
Glenn.

Just to be clear, I'm trying to get a WYSIWYG effect between visual studio and the forum/html pages, because as you see, it does look better and i think is easier to follow.

Just some thoughts. Thanks for your help.

Cheers,
Glenn.

I meant the code itself, not the html portion, but I see what you mean with the WYSIWYG. Yes, it does look better and is easier to follow. I like the idea too and it will be on my mind as to a solution, not that I may find one, however.

Mark, would this help?
Custom BB Code mod
Not sure about this one, but maybe:
More HTML Tags
This one looks interesting:
Snapshot BBCode
Uh, this one might be good too, do we have this ability, as moderators?
HTML Permission Mod
While we're at it:
Table from CSV

Looks like you want something like a pastebin. If Mark would interesting in hosting one I could whip one up fairly quickly.
