Help with plotting using Adobe
« on: September 21, 2007, 10:00:44 AM »
When I try to print drawings at home using adobe Acrobat it will only let me select up to 11x17.  The is no preset paper size for larger sheets like 24x36 etc.  Any thoughts?

Thanks Luke

Yeah I'm sure I can customize size (although I have not yet tried) but it sould seem to me there is a better way.  I did not have to do that here at work.  Would that have something to do with the fact that here at work we have a large format plotter so it causes those larger sizes to be an option?

When printing from any program, paper size is always dictated by the printer driver, not the software you're printing from.

That's strange, my setup has an "Arch D" and all Arch Sizes.

If I read his post correctly he is printing to adobe and not a printer, so adobe should offer all sizes.

Unless it's not the actual Adobe PDF writer and some other knock off version...

Though even cutepdf and the others that I've seen always offer all of the architectural sizes.

The paper sizes could be turned off within the plotter (pdf writer) configs.  To check, hit the plot button (or get the plot dialog open), then select the pdf writer you are using, then hit the button to the right of the pull down list (properties), then select the "Filter Paper Sizes" in the "Device and Document Settings" tab, and all the sizes should show up in the list box below.
