Xref OverLay versus Attachment

When to use overlay and attachment on xrefs...

Sheet drawings or dwg should have attachments...

Other base files referencing other base files should be overlayed...

that way there is no cirrcular referencing when attaching to a sheet dwg

I have a sheet from our cad standards in pdf format.  I think it explains them pretty well.  You you'd like, I can send it to you.
