Here's the latest dilemma:
I'm working with a xref'd topo on a sheet and it is taking 5 minutes to open (yes I watched the clock) and about that to print. We've have great CPU's and printers so that's not the problem. I'm wondering if its the fact that I have to cancel a missing .shp file 5 or 6 times. I've taken the intermediate contours out, so the topo is down to 5MB ( 5,000 kb if I remember right). What little info I can provide is I imagine it was created with a fly by, its a large area, though the contours are annotated with text, not "contour labels" and we're using vanilla 05. So I'm wondering:
Is the missing shp the probable problem?
Is there a way to find what entity needs the shp file and delete them out. I imagine they don't show in the dwg, since its missing the files.
Is there a way to substitute the missing shp files with another? On opening I tried to click on bigfont to substitute, but that did not work.
Any ideas to speed this thing up are appreciated.
