XData and Dictionaries in Microstation
« on: April 02, 2007, 04:46:03 PM »
Is it possible to have an equivalent to XData and/or Dictionaries in a microstation drawing .. and if so, I would sincerely appreciate a bit of direction on how to make it happen ..

Well .. since you guys were no help, I actually had to read the help file ... UGGGGHHHHHH ....

Anyway, Microstation does have xdata, just like AutoCAD, except it must be implemented a little bit differently... something akin to dictionaries/xrecords are also available, something called an ApplicationElement and DataBlock working together to place information in a drawing ... so yes it is available, but somewhat of a pain to manage ... I'll manage though ..

Ok Keith...

seems that you are a "closet" microstation user...

So, how much Microstation are you doing?
Is this in regards to your home building duties or something else?

If I knew anything about Xdata or dictionaries, I would have said something.
I just don't know about them in either platform  :-(

Well, lets just say that I am having to learn the ins and outs of it for the sake of a major contract that I stand to make a lot of money from when it is completed .. and it may involve alot more work in the future.
