Swamp Modeling Invitational

For those who like to play around on lunch breaks, in the evenings, have some down time... or maybe just aren't that well supervised ;)

I have a challenge for us all!

Model your office!  Just your immediate surroundings, detail is up to you.  This is no contest, just an exercise in illustration.  Show us, without using photos, what your office looks like!

I'm in progress on mine.. waiting for the day that comes within the next week or so when we expand, allowing me to reclaim my office as my own, instead of sharing, and I'm planning the furniture arrangement.

I'm not looking for a fabulous render quality, or the most intricate thing... just do whatever level of detail you're comfortable with; this is supposed to be fun!

post a file.  I'm no expert, but I'm sure there are a few others here than can put some lighting in your model and send 'er back.  I learned by trial and error basically.  i'm finding that flourescent lights are a real bear... I wish Autocad would let you pick an object as a light source, rather than limiting to a point from which light eminates such as a point or spotlight.

agreed ... the spot lights are difficult to get right .. it seems there needs to be a softer lighting method available

Here's a dry-run of a mechanical room that I'm currently working on.
Some of the pipes still need to be connected and the materials/lighting need a little TLC (as indicated by the little red pipe).

This is really fun!

Here's my latest entry after working on it today over a Wendy's Big Bacon burger.  I think this is going to be an ongoing project... Next I'll have to scribble something on the dry erase board, put some books on the bookshelf, print rolls in the corner, plans on the drafting table, phone, computer tower, stapler (red Swingline, baby [actually mine's black, but hey, this is my rendering!]) and all that jazz.  This could get to be pretty intensive.
