I can't wait! I sure hope we get to make this upgrade!
To Good To Be True would be if we could open, modify and save all of our DGNs with AutoCAD 2008 and never have to use Microstation again. Including the DGNs with Raster files attached.
now from the otherside of the fence, replace Microstation with Autocad. The introduction of V8 as a whole was an endeavor to open/reference/edit DWGs. A few versions later, it still is not as easy as we'd all like to theorize...
I also believe amongst other things, that is why yearly releases have come about. Bentley was getting too close to mastering Autocad (in their minds). So to throw a wrench in the engine, Autodesk decided to go to yearly releases. Could have also led to a push for some of the new technology in Autodesk products such as fields, dynamic blocks that the Bentley folks are gonna have to think hard and long to emulate...
