Creating a New Group and Component in the DCM
« on: October 04, 2006, 07:36:30 PM »
Please see attached image. The current project i am working on calls for alot of metal siding panels of different profiles. I  created a tool in a from an existing component in the Metal Decking 05300 Section. It works just fine but would like to get it to 07610 as the product binder calls for. There is no section 07610.

First: How do I create a new spec Section the Detail Component Manager?

Second: how do I just copy the tool and all the XML junk with it?

Disclaimers.
I know nothing about Access except using as a user of already established databases.
I know even less about XML except for the rule of "Ted is not suppose to touch it".

I love the Detail Component Manager for inserting common elements It is a really time saver.  It is one of the best things Autodesk created.

Well I created a new group and a new node but the could not create the columns.

This is very frustrating.  It would seem that I all I had to do was simply copy and paste it.  I can cut & paste it but it still does not bring all the columns.
