wow  :realmad:

I was reading the AutoDesk forums. No other way huh? There are 3rd party programs but they say you pay more then a full version AutoCAD license.  :x

Nope.  :-(
Everyone has a photographic memory, Some just don't have film.
They say money can't buy happiness, but it can buy Bacon and that's a close second.
Sometimes the question is more important than the answer. (Thanks Kerry for reminding me)

Why would someone purchase AutoCAD LT then?

The only way to use keyboard shortcuts would be to modify the acad.pgp file then? and no way to run .arx or lisp files.

I was planning on getting LT for the users that just need to do basic 2D drafting but without being able to load lisps its a huge problem. Almost all commands are custom and re-written in lisp. I'm using the trial version and it drives me nuts trying to use the default AutoCAD commands and on lisps.

Didn't the pgp file go away with 2006?  I've been living in 2004 land again for about a year now, but didn't they go with the compiled cli (or w/e it's called) xml file?

The pgp files are still there . . . the trick is finding the one you are using to edit.  It seems like they have a pgp in 2 or 3 different places lately and the first one in the search path gets loaded.
I have no idea how LT justifies its existence or how people work with it, but many members here seem to do just that - apparently by writing long macros.  I would think it would make more sense to examine some of the Intellicad alternatives instead of LT.  ProgeCAD and BricsCAD are both very good packages.  BricsCAD is customizable to the extent that it can run EaglePoint civil design software.

AutoCAD LT 2007 = $899 ( www.autodesk.com )
Toolkit 2007 = $350 ( www.drcauto.com )

AutoCAD 2007 = $3995

I wouldn't call that more. I've used Toolkit, it works!

And one seat of BRICSCAD V7 PRO $450 US with full lisp and vba support.  No object ARX support yet, but just about anyting else; reads / writes dwg files r2.5 thru 2006.  It even offers a somewhat crippled Linux version!
