Wellit actually depends on what type of editing you want to do.

You can slice, extrude, fillet, chamfer, union, subtract... along with a whole host of other things

I guess I should have been more specific. :)  What I wanted to do was extrude a face more from an existing solid object.

solidedit will give you the extrude face option.....
