Helix issue

HI,

Im having a problem extruding a non-circular shape around a helix. The shape I need to extrude is rectangular. Whenever I extrude a rectangle around a polyline helix (into solid form) the rectangle gets twisted. The rectangle starts off perpendicular to the axis of the helix and ends up twisted at an angle. I checked a number of furums and noticed other people had problems with helix's. Perhaps Autocad can't do this. If this is the case, is there a relatively easy way aound this. I'd like to point out that I'm not interested in extruding a circle. Id apreciate some feedback on this,

Thanks

Sorry, the program itself isn't well documented...
Good luck!

Welcome Fuccaro,

I posted that link in with the code that I posted here.
I had the code but lost track of where I found it.

I never wrote a single DCL line in my life!
I learn VBA but not so fast as I wish. Until that I remain a lisper without DCL abilities.

By the way Fuccaro, did you add that other option that you were discussing  in the previous topic? Remember the flatness issue of the extruded object.  I noticed the helical object seems to get flatter the wider the axis of rotation.

Thanks

Sorry Johnjoe!
Try to stretch the shape in the opposite direction before the spiral extrusioin. In that Forum you will find a routine for this.
