selected objects not shown during commands
« on: July 04, 2006, 05:20:58 AM »
beginning to get on my nerves.everytime i issue a command and go to select the objects there are no grips displayed.Means Im working slightly more blind than normal.I have grips set to 1(on),also the following in options:
noun/verb selection,implied windowing,associative hatch ticked
use shift to add to selection, press and drag & object grouping unselected.
What on earth is the variable I need, its possible some lisp routine I may have tested out may have turned it off.Im on ADT 2007

Stating the obvious, but if you issue a command and then pick the objects, you won't get grips...otherwise, is GRIPOBJLIMIT set high enough?

That was my first thought.  It defaults to something ridiculos like 100.  If you select more than 100 objects, the grips don't display.  I set mine to umptymilfinity (was tough since 32k%%P is the max)

I had the same problem. Try setting the DRAGMODE to AUTO. That worked for me.

Off topic but

associative hatch ticked
, I'm hoping there is a good reason to have this ticked.

Oh yes, it should be. There are very few cases in which associative hatch is not a good thing. Especially if you have your hatch boundary as a polyline. If you need to make revisions, Just select the boundary's grips, stretch it into the new shape and/or location.

Slim this isn't about creating associative hatch. That is the determined by hpassoc variable.
Like you said, with associative hatch if you adjust the poly you adjust the hatch.
With this checked if you delete the hatch you delete the poly, iff you change the hatch layer to say a hatch layer
the poly changes layer too.
I find that a bit restrictive, but I keep finding good reasons to do things other ways and was looking for one here.

Its not highlight or GRIPOBJLIMIT.Ill try taking off the associative hatch setting. One thing I notice as well is that if I select ovjects to say trim or move it will only show some ofjects as selected and other not until i zoom in.This can be two seperate polylines both the same thickness and colour, kind of weird.

2007, perhaps its the graphis card. Does the same thing happen in a new drawing with hardly anything in it?
