Talk your boss into a copy of LDD. You then will have every tool you ever dreamed of. What ain't there the guys here can write for you. Much of LDD will come easily to you because the ADT set up is similar to LDD's. Then go to
www.agtcad.com and order the training CD's. Buy a thick bath towel. When the CD's arrive to show you what LDD will do and how to do it, be sure to place the thick towel in your lap. This will keep you from ruining your pants and chair as you stare in awe and disbelief at what you will be able to do. This level of awe usually involves slobbering, hence the need for the towel.
Profiles, alignments, x-sections, surfaces underground utility design, it's all there just waiting. It's not in ADT. And no, I do not work for AutoDesk. I work for a surveying and mapping firm and use this monster daily. We do road alignments and stake out, volume computations, topo maps, GPS etc., etc. All in LDD. ADT cannot do this. Use the right tool for the job and you will work faster and you boss will bubble with delight. (or maybe he just bubbles cause he's old like me. I bubble all the time.)
