I am all of the sudden left with the slightly sickly feeling that I am on the brink of dropping into something that will be well over my head.
I'll share some of the advice that I got when I first dipped my toes into .NET. Don't try to do it all at once; just what you need, when you need it.
I didn't follow that advice in the beginning and almost choked on the very large bite that I took. I came from a BASIC/LISP/VB background. And I tried to learn a new language, C#, and a new way of programming, OOP, all in one fell swoop. And now with the newer releases of acad you have to throw a new API into that mix
Just don't let it all overwhelm you.
It's
worth the time and effort.
