Ribbon problem
« on: June 29, 2011, 03:38:18 PM »
I haven't touched this thing in two years so I'm more than a little rusty.  Somehow I've managed to get the ribbon in the center of my drawing and I can't remember how to get it back to the top.     I can dock it left or right but how the h___  :realmad: do I get it back to the top?  And I don't really mind if you laugh!   :-D  :lmao:

It's in palette form, I assume?

Right click on the palette "bar" you click and drag it around with.  Make sure "allow docking" is selected.  Drag to the top.

That was the first thing I tried but it won't let me drag it anywhere.  It just sits there sneering at me!

Did I mention, this is AutoCAD 2009?

Have you locked the position of toolbars/pallettes?
Thanks for explaining the word "many" to me, it means a lot.

I thought I had but it didn't take much to really mess it up.  Then, just now I finally got it back to the top.  Yah!!!!

Maybe I won't need to be retrained after all.

Oh yea, forgot about that.

Another tip.. you can leave them locked, and if you hold CTRL, it should let you drag them.  It's kind of an 'override' key for that.  It's worked on toolbars, so it -should- work on palette type objects... in theory.
