is this a bug in 2009?

i cant open more than one drawing at a time through windows explorer but when i go to file>open i can select multiple drawings and open them at once. in 2007 i was able to to this through windows explorer

any ideas?

what value is SDI set to ?

nope... tried both 0 and 1

same thing happened... only one drawing opens

what does SDI do?

Enables or disables the multi document interface.

Are you running something other than autocad?

And lastly should you insist on using explorer in that fashion try this instead:

Browse to the File you want open, then with a lift click-and drag, drag it onto the command line in autocad and release; the drawing will open.

When you right click on the file's icon, what options appear in the context menu?  In particular, which option is shown in bold?

i ve tried it just after starting the pc and it wont work. even at home i have the same problem...

ok this worked but its still not as convenient as using explorer and just selecting multiple files, right clicking, and selecting open

i see 'open' in bold whether i select one or multiple files


p.s. in 2007 it works as expected, just in 2009 it doest work... both on different PCs one running XP and the other Vista

If there is an item labeled "Launch AutoCAD" in the context menu, try clicking that instead of Open.  You might have inadvertently changed the default handler for the .dwg file type.
