Weird VP and Plot XREF scales...
« on: January 11, 2008, 01:21:53 PM »
I have a bunch of weird scales showing up in my drawing that I can't figure out how to get rid of. They don't show up in a blank template when I start a drawing, but as soon as I XREF something in they show up. They are very annoying.

Has anyone else had this happen? Does anyone know how to make them quit showing up? Any help is much appreciated. I attached a couple of screen shots so you guys can see exactly what I am talking about.

Thanks!

Yes and yes.

Reset your scales.

Command: ScaleListEdit
Then click the RESET button.

haha... I would break something over that.

Why does it happen? It doesn't make any sense to me at all why they would be created.

It makes sense to me because xref's carry over blocks, text styles and dimension styles just to name a few, but I would think that it wouldn't carry these over, which I assume is why it got fixed with SP1.

/point of view and assumption

Thanks for the link.  It looks like I will be writing some scripts.  I have xref > xref > xref > xref  > xref > xref > xref.   :doa:

hmmm... Interesting. I just made a quick toolbar button with a macro to clear them out with one click. I may look into something to go thru directories and clean then out when I'm not so busy.

Thanks again for the help and link to the other info.

I just tested it on a couple drawings and work as described.  What is did not say in the help is that if want to run in safe mode then you need to set it to safe mode before the command is run.  For me it look like there was harm in it report at the end but the OTB scales were still there.  The safe mode just deletes the xref scales but the full mode will delete any user created scales too.  The help could use clarifying in these areas.

Work as advertised and now off to do some 125+ files.
Thanks Matt.
