I'm using LDT 2005, so far I like it. The tables thing is a blast!

Wish I'd known about 2005 when I was bugging the boss about 2004...it sounds like fun. :-)

2000 right now, but the plan is to upgrade to 2004 this summer.  The software has already been purchased though...Don't ask me...I didn't make the call.

I have R14 and LDD3 loaded. 2004 AND 2005 are sitting on my desk. BIGBOSSMAN is hot to go to 2005 for some reason. Current computer runs on Windows 98. MY! I hear the pitter patter of new computer footsteps!! Ignorance is bliss and he's freakin ecstatic!!

We've literally upgraded to ADT 2004, we've had the program since it was released and it's been sat waiting for us to get round to installing it. There are still a couple of seats running ADT 2i but they were due to be upgraded by the end of the month. Now I find that because we're on a certain upgrade path 2005 has just arrived and is waiting to be installed!

I haven't even got around to reconfiguring my menus and changing to the new tool pallete and I'm due another upgrade! Surely they can't have changed that much already or is this AutoDESK really getting into full swing screwing customers?

I mostly run 2002.
Have one job using 2004.
have 2005 sitting on my desk but the first attempt to install
killed all my 2002 menu's...  :(

when I get a little less busy, I may give it a try again...

unfortunately still using 2000 'cos we're tied into our drawing management system which can't recognise later formats. 2004 is sitting on the shelf gathering dust.

me !  :horror:

actually we have 6 licences in total, but there's only 1 other "CAD user"  :choke: (and I use the term very very loosely !) but that's only for cover when I'm off, and we have a couple of production users who use it only for printing off drawings for the shop floor.

AMW isn't TOO TOO expensive to upgrade right now...but they're starting to go the same way Autodesk did...you have a time limit to upgrade before you have to pay the full blown price.

We have the same number of seats as you (One main seat + 5 additional) and only 2 - 3 people ever really use it.  Anyway, here are some prices for you (In US dollars...)

Mike:

Thanks for taking the time to speak with me this morning.

As discussed the cost for the Workflow upgrade is as follows.

PRICING IS IN US DOLLARS

Media Kit                                    $ 75.00
Workflow 6.1 to Teamwork 2004    $399.00/seat
Subscription                                $ 123.50/seat

We can approximate the migration, configuration, setup and training at roughly 5 days. This would include admin and user training.

The cost for this service is $ 125/hr or approx. $ 5000 for the total package.

I can explain some other options once we meet with Guy. (Formal training etc)

Let me know when we can meet with Guy next week I habe some time available on Wed Thurs or Friday. (April 28,29,30)

thanks for the info Mike,
I actually looked into the upgrade recently. It looks as though we’re going to go the Meridian way ~ not my choice but rather, an IT git’s way of “standardising” software in the company.
I’ve no doubts Meridian can do wonderful things but as far as I am concerned, it’s just waaayy over the top for my requirements. All I need is a version of AMW that’ll work with 2004 and above but autocashgrabbers have changed the ARX structure, so I doubt anyone is going to take the time to rewrite the ARX for AMW.
One of the other reasons for us staying where we are for the moment is that my colleagues in the USA have only had it running for about two years and they feel they haven’t had their money’s worth out of it yet, and as we still need to exchange drawings now and again, we don’t want to be incompatible.
The good side of moving to Meridian, is that as with AMW, no-one in the company knows anything about customising / programming it. It does mean that I’ll have to start learning Vbscript (I think that’s what Meridian is programmed with), but that gives me a skill that no-one else in the company has so it’s a point in my favour when it comes to “restructuring” the workforce. ~ if I hadn’t known anything about Lisp I would never have got to travel to the US a couple of times a year.
So I think I'll try and get Meridian in here within the next 6 months or so, then it'll give me a good reason for going to the USA to help roll it out over there.
