Half Tone a .pdf in CAD?
« on: September 30, 2011, 11:19:06 AM »
I am inserting a floor Plan in .PDF format into CAD, then putting my devices over the top of the .pdf.

I would like to make the .pdf 'half tone' so my new stuff shows up better.

Is there a way in CAD to make OLE files 'half tone'?

On the Properties menu there should be "Fade" under "Underlay Adjust".
(that's if you bring in the PDF as a PDF Underlay)

.PDF Underlay must be a FULL CAD thing.

LT appears not to have that option.

oh, that stinks. Sorry. I didn't notice the LT thing - it may be only in 2010, rather than 2008, too.

Should be easy enough if you either set a color (if using .ctb) or plot style (if using .stb) to your desired screening preference....I often screen underlaying plans to 25%.  Then just put the OLE object on that color or assign it the style.  Send the underlay to the back to make sure your linework appears on top of it.
