Raster Design
« on: December 23, 2008, 09:25:08 AM »
I'm not real sure as to where this post should be placed so I'll let the powers to be decide.

Does anyone know how to create tiled images from a large image file, say a Mr Sid image?  I know that Raster Design is supposed to be able to take an image of almost any kind, and create tiles from that image.  I have several large Mr Sid files that I have been trying to breakdown so to speak for use in a different software (PLS-CADD).  I would like to keep the file in its correct geographic location if possible.  The only ways that I have seen for being able to tile a large image is through exporting the image or through a save as process.  The problem that I am having is that it has taken several days of crunching without any kind of result.  I have been trying to create several different types of image files; Tiff, JPEG, JP2, etc but I have been unable to actually get any results.  :x   :realmad:

Any help would be great.

You will want to research creating your own TFW files for those tiled images.
You might want to chop them up using something like photoshop, and then write your own image_001.TFW (or similar) depending on what format you save the data in.
Be your Best

I know I'm going to sound selfish here, but why would I have to do this myself if the software is supposed to do it for you?? :pissed:

Oh wait a minute this is an Autodesk product.  :lmao:  :ugly: :lmao:
