Line type scales...
« on: July 11, 2008, 10:23:46 PM »
Hello...

I have been reading, searching and trying everything I can think of to sort this out myself but I am getting nowhere. Still it seems like a rather basic requirement so I figure it must be possible...

What I want to do is have a layout tab with multiple viewports showing portions of my model with different scales and have my line types show the same pattern, i.e. I would like a 2mm dash to be a 2mm dash on paper regardless of the viewport scale and I want to be able to place blocks in paper space and have the line types in them scale properly also.

I have tried using various combinations of setting LTSCALE and PSLTSCALE. Is there something else? How should I go about this?

Thanks.

you should be able to achieve this effect by establishing the desired scale for each viewport and setting LTSCALE to 1 and PSLTSCALE to 1.  Additionally, if you are using 2008 or 2009 there is a new variable that you may wish to set to 1 also.  You may need to issue the REGENALL command before the display changes as desired.

Hmmm... that is what I thought should work but it does not for me. I wonder if it is because I am using Bricscad. I will have to get some time on an Autocad machine to try I guess...

Thanks.

I find sometimes with acad that I have to activate the vp and do a regen to get the line types to update in the vp.

Turns out I cannot seem to get it _displayed_ correctly on a layout tab but the hard copy is ok. This is with LTSCALE = 1 and PSLTSCALE = 1 in Bricscad.

Thanks.
