Topic: Wanted: One model space/paper space icon

I can't seem to find it anywhere. 

My boss suggested I look on the floor for it but it wasn't there either.

I went to a layout and opened a viewport.  Now I don't normally modify something from paperspace within a viewport in this manner but that is what I did.  I went to press the paper space/model space icon and it had disappeared.

I restored the defaults we set up as our company standard with no success.

I turned the computer off and back on with no success.

It seems to be replaced with VPMAX icon.

If anybody knows where I can get a new one of these paper space/model space icons it would be much appreciated.

I found it.  Just needed to be turned back on for some reason.

Poor thing must have been overworked and went off hiding on me for a long needed break.

There's actually a bug in ACAD 2008 (dont think it was there in 07 but not sure) that the button disappears seemingly randomly.  It's been commonly tied to the use of the block editor, although it appears to not happen EVERY time you use the beditor, but rather it seems there's something that's done within the block editor that makes it go away.  Also been tied to random other occurrences, but I've only ever noticed it when I've used the beditor recently.

It's happening fairly frequently here in our classrooms.  Haven't bothered to try to figure out what sequence of events causes the behavior but I know it has been several different things.

It's really hard to track down because it's such an obscure item... it's very much in the peripheral site, for me, at least... and I never know it's gone until I go to hit it... well if I check the command log all the way back to the last time I hit it... there could be 1000s of lines gone by, by then!  So it's rather hard to track.

Hopefully it goes away in 2009, although it IS little more than a nuisance.

BTW, Just got my Subscription Center login up and running, and am checking out some AU screencasts and materials... saw that you had some resources for Autocad solid modeling.  I look forward to checking that out.
