Match properties for Text

I have text "A". and I want to copy the text 10 different places in ONE dwg. then i go to edit "A" to "A1"  then it changes all the "A" to "A1".
kinda like the find replace

This may not be the best way to get what you want but it is what comes to mind.
Make the text a block. copy wherever you want. then update the block

So what happens if you open a drawig with tabs, in a previous version of autocad?

Does the text stay formatted?

if you have multiple tabs  ~ when you open a drawing in an older version it only displays the first layout tab (I think)

I think you're replying to a different thread but I'll answer anyway.

If someone using AutoCAD 2004 writes up some MTEXT with TABS in it and saves the drawing as an AutoCAD 2002 drawing, AutoCAD automagically replaces the TABS with spaces.

No, you understood the question perfectly. And what you suggested is a quick and easy soultion to the problem (although, with a little coding, it could be done more efficiently).
