DISPSILH -1
ISOLINES - 0
SHADEMODE - doesnt give me an option for 2d..... and tried all the others....

Its a copy/paste from an old drawing into a new drawing and the old one works fine (see pic)

Maybe i should just put the new titleblock onto the old drawing???

2007 doesn't have SHADEMODE = 2D? What does it have? My 2007 is on my laptop, and I left it home this morning.  If you've set SHADEMODE to HIDE the lines will show up on screen no matter what other settings are in place.

Are the entities proxies in the old drawing?

Command: shademode
VSCURRENT
Enter an option [2dwireframe/3dwireframe/3dHidden/Realistic/Conceptual/Other] <2dwireframe>:

Quote
Command: -shademode
Enter option [2D wireframe/3D wireframe/Hidden/Flat/Gouraud/fLat+edges/gOuraud+edges]:

2D is still there.  If you use the dash before the command you get different options.

No, but they do show up on the hide plot preview.....all i want is to either thin these lines out and/or reduce the amount of them shown...
On the original drawing where i got the model from doesnt display these lines on the plot preview (or the plot) I've got the same settings as the orig drawing (or so i thought) and still wont print as i want it to....

DISPSILH=1 suppresses the plotting of those lines, if that isn't the fix, your Acad is broken.
