sheet designations
« on: February 06, 2007, 09:12:15 AM »
Good morning everyone, does anyone know the sheet sequence for architectural plans, I'm not drawing homes but a rather large salt shed building.  I know the way we do it but I don't think its necessarily right.  Thanks. 8-)

Individual company standards.  Your company can decided what is right.

We typically go as follows...

A0-1 (through whatever Cover Sheet/Code Plan
A1-1 (though whatever) Site/Landscape/Site Details/Photometrics
A2-1 (through whatever) Floor Plans/Roof Plans
A3-1 (through whatever) Elevations/Building Sections (<-though I don't agree with my company on this))
A4-1 (through whatever) Wall Sections
A5-1 (through whatever) Schedules/Details/Wall Types/Elevations/Enlarged Plans
A6-1 (through whatever) RCP Plans

We get Civil and Structural from other companies.

Like Greg said, unless you specify that you want to adopt something like the AIA (don't like it personally) standards... it's up to the company.

We cover civil, structural, and archy sheets for ours.

We do:

C-01
C-02
etc

A-01
A-02
etc

S-01
S-02
etc

We generally try to keep the sheet groups in order of construction... s'bout it.

But hey each architect has their own title block.

Sounds like ours . . . small, stand-alone civil sets with no need for any special indexing.

All our civil consultants have the same numbering system.
There is always somebody on the team that feels the need to be different & special.   :-) :-)

We are so different and special that we don't ever send out sets as a sub-consultant - prime only, all the time.
