What book would you buy?
« on: August 25, 2006, 03:43:15 PM »
I want to buy a book to help get me up to speed on the whole 2007 thing, since I probably won't have time to learn by trial and error (don't know if I'll get training yet).

But I don't know anything about these, except that they're all written by good people. So, which would you get? (If you said other, please say which.)

Myth Busters write thier own book   :-D

I may be outdated but years ago I always liked the "Inside AutoCAD" by New Riders Pub. Back before R14 the authors even attempted small bits of humor.

I voted Omura, but only cause he's at the top of your list. :)  I have no experience with any of these authors, except to say that I've heard a lot of good stuff about George and Ellen both.

IMO, the single biggest things are the CUI philosophy which Robert Bell does a real nice job explaining in the augi forums.

Dynamic blocks are the other biggie.  I've learned LOTS from many of last years AU handouts (Matt Murphy's are pretty thorough)

^^both freebies.  8-)

there's always THIS place.
(hows that for not answering the question?)

I voted for "Richard Laymon - Island" (aka "Other")

Nothing is going to do you better, in my opinion, than a combination of hands on experience, reading the help files, and asking questions in this forum.

If you're going to spend money on a book, you might as well be able to read a good suspense story. ;)
