totally stinks. Its what I use to record all of my videos. I am learning camtasia now, but not will all the bells and whistles like Screencast.
Think there will be another product by Autodesk?

Beta tested it years ago when it was called Chronicle. Why would they take away such a valuable tool?

What's your recommended replacement of this tool?
There are lots of different software, but which is (more or less) similar to Screencast?
-
I have been using Camtasia Recently. I wish it was more like the Screencast, but there is alot more options.

I have both Snagit and Camtasia. Snagit is much cheaper and has some video recording features. Another Free option is ScreenToGif (https://www.screentogif.com/), although some forums don't display gif well.

"ZoomIt" has also a mp4-record feature: https://learn.microsoft.com/de-de/sysinternals/downloads/zoomit

So there is a way to use PowerPoint to record screen as a video.

I don't know features of original software, but I use open source OBS Studio to capture live streams such as kid's sporting events or graduation. Seems to do much more.
