Title: New Insertion command in 2020
Post by: Andrea on April 16, 2019, 08:38:52 AM
Hi all,..

is Anyone experimenting problem with new insertion command in AutoCAD 2020 ?
when inserting blocks,...this new palette takes 4 sec to insert blocks each time we use it...even if the block selected is already in the drawing without any redefine mode. (see pic)

It works OK here.

If you use the command line version (-insert) does it still have the delay for you?

Works fine here too ... have you tested more than one drawing?

Not really, for most block insertion we just use classicinsert or tool palettes.

The only time we tend to use this new interface is when we are inserting multiple blocks from another drawing, this interface tends to work well for that, but normal block insertion, it is much more time consuming.

why not use design center?  unless they killed that off for this version?

Simply put, it is too complex for our needs. Yes, power users can use it fairly well, but the average user, not so much.
