Hello, has anyone made a lisp to layout a simple roof cricket? IF not I would like to start to make one.
Any help would be appreciated.

Cricket? Or A saddle? There is a difference.
I have been meaning to create one but I have no time. And it would not be for me actually because I am doing construction administration for Roofing Program for a national client and hence have no time. It would be for my architect and designers that draw up the plans. It kills me see them drawing it out when I know it can be automated.

First start by giving an example DWG of what you want to create.
Attached is a crude Hip truss program I did in 2003.It creates a 2D plan view of a hip truss assembly with single lines drawn on the current layer.

Hello,, attached is a rough draft. I'm limited on time right now too.

I added a little more detail to the print.

I assume you are drawing this in 2D.
User would need to input pitch of main roof, pitch of cricket.
Rafter size (2x6)
Rafter spacing 16-24
Ridge board size
Ridge height above main roof end point or ridge run distance.
Bevel cut or butt at the rafter to roof plane joint.
Given this info I think you could draw the needed parts.

Ahhh we call those dormers. :-D
I thought you were talking about drainage saddles and crickets for flat roofs.

No not for flat roofs.. that is another topic... I'm designing a couple different Hotel Hiltons. We could talk about flat roof venting all day.. and emergency roof drains.
I send out the poly iso cricket designs to another company. But thanks. 8-)
