TheSwamp and all its belongings is now, or soon will be, in the hands of John Kaul (Se7en). A few weeks ago I asked John if he would like to have this place and he accepted. I could not be happier. Hopefully John can add some excitement to this place again.
I am still an admin here, Johns choice not mine, for a little while longer. John has been basically running this place for the past 6-8 months.
Please direct all hate mail to John from here on. :-)

Thank you Mark for all you have done for this community, you definitely deserve a break!
I'd say that The Swamp is the best community of its type and that is due to the man behind the wheel all these years. It has been your vision, willingness to help, persistence, patience, integrity, time, investment and I'm sure many other personal sacrifices you've had to make to keep this place alive. Then there's the cyclones, shovels and other challenges you have had to deal with :)
In short, you're a legend Mark and I wish you well in your future endeavors.

Thank you Mark for creating this fantastic community for us to all hang our hats for the past years, Im guessing its not always been easy. The help, friendship and fun I have had here has been immeasurable. You have truly created a unique place. I wish you all the very best with whatever you do going forward. I'm not going any where. I still do CAD 40 hours a week. :) I don't program anymore, to speak of.

Thank you for providing a place for me to grow as a programmer, a cad manager, and now as a construction administrator, while at the same time, a place for me just hang out and make friends from all over the world that has helped me expand my views and opinions of the world. Thank you.

Just for the record: back when TheSwamp was "big" (some people may remember "BigSwamp" before it was "TheSwamp"), Mark introduced me to Vi...umm, err..."an awesome editor that shall remain nameless". So you guys can feel free to 'thank' him for that too.

Mark has been a member here for over 15 yeaqrs ... in fact he was the first registered member.
Sometimes he did far worse things than post in the wrong threads ... we let him do it because he is a really nice guy.

I'm not around that much anymore, but I really appreciate what theSwamp has meant to me. A place to learn and to share what I have learned with the new and up-and-comming. I forget who led me here from the Adesk forums, but I will be forever thankful to them. Without theSwamp I would not be the programmer I am today, even though my title is still 'Cad Monkey' (I even went to school to get away from CAD, but it didn't work).
Thanks Mark for the coolest place to hang my hat and sit back and learn. Thanks John for keeping this warehouse of wisdom and levity going (all to all the mods thought time also). Like the others, words do not seem enough...
