Title: Wall errors
Post by: Artisan on April 25, 2005, 02:44:46 PM
Wall errors are killing me. If I see one more Red error mark, I think I am going to toss ADT out the door.

Ok, maybe I am missing something here, but when I arrange several windows in a wall, I am getting the wall error marks each time. Is there a setting to turn this off or what? Why can I not have 3 windows in one wall segment without getting the error?

No problem here:

Wish I had some more info on it, but I haven't encountered that yet...

I don't do much in the way of 3D Dommy, as  you have shown. I have had less than 6 months experience with this program, actually, less than a month on 05 ADT. Anyway,  This (http://www.theswamp.org/lilly_pond/artisan/wall-window-error.JPG?nossi=1) is what I was really referring too when I was talking about the error. It seems that the windows either have to be completely together, forming a mulled unit or there must be a certain amount of space between them in order for the wall to work.

Can you post that drawing and I'll give it a go?

Your  endcap style is the problem. If you look at the end cap on the right of the wall, you will note that the external wall at 4" returns toi close the cavity. If you want wall between the windows you will need a minimum of 10". If you increase the gap to 10"then the the wall error will disapear. If you dont want wall between the window elements, then you need to create a window assemble.

I was gonna mention the endcaps, but I don't use them...so I don't know that much about them...that sounds like the solution 42.
