Title: lines by coordinate
Post by: drizzt on July 21, 2014, 12:54:07 PM
Ok, in Civil 3D 2014 when I draw multiple lines from end to end by entering the beginning and ending xy values I get some unexpected results. The first coordinate will land the beginning and the end of the first line correctly. Now, if I want to draw a line from the endpoint of the previous line, the coordinate are no longer on the world coordinate system, so when I enter the end point of the second line, it will be off because the system moves 0,0,0 to the end point of the first line. Is there a setting or something that will tell autocad not to switch from the world coordinate system?

I hope this is clear enough, and thank you in advance for your help.

have you tried using the transparent command; 'NE?
or 'AD, or 'BD?

First, let me say that this question is for a client of mine.

I think we just want the coordinate entry to work like it used to before upgrading to Civil 3D 2014.

Try to toggle the value of UCSFOLLOW variable: I guess setting to ZERO would help, sir.

Irrespective you all be happier utilizing the transparent command and leave the autocad settings alone. (DYNPICOORDS variable)

The DYNPICOORDS variable was set to 0. We tried changing it to 1, but there was no change. Here is the thing though, before we changed the varialbe, at startup this morning, everything was working fine. I am still curious though, so I will try all of the above suggestions.

I appreciate everyones help
