Title: Geometry Problem
Post by: Dave M on January 19, 2014, 10:57:28 PM
Okay, I am being really dense.  I need to rotate the circle and its tangent line about the center of the large arc, (which also happens to be the end of the line) so that the small circle will be tangent to the line above it.  Can someone help me see what I am not seeing?  Thanks!

OFFSET THE TOP LINE BY THE RADIUS OF THE SMALLER CIRCLE
DRAW A CIRCLE P1 -> P2
ROTATE THE SMALLER CIRCLE FROM P1 RELATIVE TO P1-> P2 TO P1-> P3
IE THE CENTER OF THE SMALL CIRCLE WILL TRANSLATE FROM P2 TO P3

Thank you Kerry! As soon as I saw your image I knew what I was doing wrong.  I knew I needed to draw another circle, but I wasn't sure where.  I love The Swamp!

Thanks again

Dave
