That's cracking news; Thanks!
I've been tearing my hair out with the RC the past 2 days - it was working, then I installed a couple of add-ins and Boom! Nothing, nada, zip..
2 reinstalls and a visit to Windows 7 safe mode later and I got it functioning again only to have it fail once more.
[sarcasm]I Look forward to downloading/installing the RTM version..[/sarcasm]
:cry:

AutoCAD does NOT play well with the .NET 4.5 framework.
user beware.

Yeah I had lots of failures, and uninstalling to get things stable again was hairy to say the least...
2013 Din't like it at all :ugly:

user beware.
I'm sure I read here somewhere that AutoCAD flat-out fails if you use the default .NET 4.5 settings;
That said, it should work ok if you switch to .NET 4.0 right? :|

I had the 4.5 prelim installed.
I uninstalled it and re-installed 4.0 and the updates.
... wasn't too painfull :)

I've just installed a highly compatible, in-place update to .NET Framework 4 (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653), ostensibly published 08/02/2012, and haven't experienced any deleterious effects yet.
Surely there are a couple of subtle and not so subtle differences between RC and RTM...

I have no idea about subtle differences kaefer;
All I know is that I could reproduce crashes and AutoCAD developers advised me of the incompatibility.
.. this was late July. I'm not sure if it was the build signed July 9 or a previous framework build .... perhaps MS have made changes that rectify the AutoCAD incompatibility ... I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

My problem was uninstalling the VS NET 2012 Beta

There are (apparently) WPF incompatibilities in .NET 4.0 on Windows XP because you can't update XP to 4.5. Here is a not-very-short thread about it: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/wpf/thread/c05a8c02-de67-47a9-b4ed-fd8b622a7e4a (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/wpf/thread/c05a8c02-de67-47a9-b4ed-fd8b622a7e4a)
This is not entirely related to what you're talking about here but it may be relevant for some.

Did you manage to fix the problem?
VS 2012 RTM is completely hosed for me at the moment. (Uninstalling, reinstalling doesn't fix it!) :x
