For a client that we have done a lot of repeat business, we have to now use their title blocks. And on their cover sheet is a space for Vicinity Map and Site Location Plan. What is the difference? I always thought they were one in the same but we called them "Locus Map".

My understanding:
Vicinity Map
Shows one where the Project is in relation to Major Cross street, or geographic features. So if one hasn't ever been there one can.
Site Location Map
Shows one where within a larger site a particular part of the project is, where the project may encompass a large area, or multiple buildings not adjacent to each other.

Just s guess but for me the Vicinity Map shows the general location of the project in a large area
and Site Location Plan is a view of the work site within a smaller view, like a store you are remodeling
within a Mall. Or a small area within the total owned propriety.
Like I said just a guess.
PS, you type too fast. :-P
