Title: C3D 09 Pipe Networks: Non-Centered Pipe Connection
Post by: alanjt on March 11, 2010, 10:41:01 AM
Is it possible and if so, how can I connect a pipe to a structure that isn't centered on the structure?

me thinks one must....draw pipe...then move pipe...

me thinks one must....draw pipe...then move pipe...
But then the pipe won't be 'connected' to the structure.

well let the folks at autodesk know....I claim no special influence over those folks

I'm trying to recall another 'solution' I think I saw somewhere....more on my return.

I could've sworn I could do this in 2009.....this is in 2010:

It works if you still pick a point within the confines of the lid. Outside of that and it disconnects.

I thought they claimed a fix for this defect in one of the service packs for 2009 but I never got a chance to give it a try.  I have a workaround described somewhere in here for old 2007 that still works albeit convoluted and unstable when editing.

EDIT-

If you have any rectangular structures, I think you are also going to have issues with your inverts, pipe lengths and slopes unless they have resolved those problems as well.  If that is still busted, beware of any interference checks.
