I hate Sketchup.

But all the neat competitions/events like this require sketchup.

meh.

Maybe I'll give it a whirl for funsies.  Gotta kill lunch breaks with somethin' to do.

Any particular reasons?  Is it the UI or is it lacking certain features that you would expect from a free program?

Granted it is not a full CAD package, but for me it's great to whip up quick preliminary models for conceptual purposes.

I just dislike the UI as well as the way it approaches the creation.  It's wayyyyyy far out of my comfort zone compared to what I'm used to.

It's very childish appearing too... intentionally so, as not to intimidate the novice, but I just don't like using it, personally.
