Title: Dhatch. New Way to Hatch !
Post by: Andrea on December 17, 2008, 03:37:21 PM
Hi all,

I have created a new way to hatch...
H.O.S.  v.1 (Hatch Object Scaling)

this allow user to select a closed polyline and scale in real time the hatch !
you can switch to the next Hatch patern by pressing the TAB key.

If someone want to create an HOSE (Editor) dont be shy... :-)

Enjoy !

Pretty nifty Andrea. Shame you're not updating the hatch's angle dynamically too. I know, version 1.01. :)

Another tiny suggestion would be for manual scale entry, but it's a very nice routine!  Thanks for sharing!

MP called it a hose editor

The e in hose already stands for editor.

Lot's of people talk about a PIN number, so basically the are talking about a Personal Identification Number Number.

Andrea,

If you add 135 degrees to your rotation angle, then the rotation will match the angle on the screen.

(setq rangle (+ (angle (cadr input) centerpoint) (angtof "135")))

Andrea:  It is cool.  I was having some problems with seeing the scale work in an architectural drawing.  Also, when I had Selectionpreview turned on (mine was set at 3), it would hang continuously.  It might be something that you should probably toggle the system variable on.

Have you tested the performance of the text in a large drawing with many xrefs? I had originally put something similar to that into my version, but later noticed significant lag in big drawings.

In our office...we use several client and add'on programs..
some of these put many scrap on  drawings..
All user run my MEGAPURGE program when saving.
allowing user to reduce filesize and remove all un-needed scrap.
it contain all AutoCAD purge and Audit function and extra cleaning
all The options are saved in our network drive in a specific user configuration.
that allow us to change PC without doing anything.

Since MEGAPURE is instored in all offices, user saw 90% more effiencienty, and some times reduce file over 70%.
some of our department work with DWG file over 90MB AFTER MEGAPURGE it.

Dhatch 4.5

I have made some tests and play with MTEXT.
so i've decided to add MTEXT as a Dynamic Menu and allow user to play with.

You will see on this animated GIF the MTEXT entity changing Dynamicly
(Font and Text color when activate or not.) and following the
Grdraw line color changing from Red to blue when the option is activated
I've forced the ARIAL font to have a good text looking.

To select press SPACEBAR
To Activate the option press Enter
you can Switch Pattern by pressing TAB or Shift+TAB (reverse)

you can move your mouse to update Dynamicly the Hatch or...
press "V" at anytime to enter any Value for Angle, scale, rotation, Origin (as list), and even Pattern Name.

Dhatch create a List of all available Hatch Pattern on Acadiso.pat or acad.pat depending the
Measurement variable. All custom Hatch Pattern Found will be added to this list.

Hatch will be Associated if entity is selected.

By playing with MTEXT....This give me an Idea (just for test)..
Create Dynamic Menu with DropDown who can read XML files..(eg  *.cui)
But time is missing a bit here....and i'm not that familar to XML.
so if someone is interested...I'm curious to see.

any comment will be appreciated.

ok..

if you run command:(TPREADCONFIG)
you got "Config file is missing" error right ?

if you run command:TPCONFIG
no dialog appear ?

if that correct...the problem is in reading the cfg file.
do you have 32 or 64 bits station ?
is the installation are in c:\program files   or   c:\program files (x86)  ??

thanks for the help.
anyone else have same problem ?

copy all files in c:\program files\Ductisoft\TotalPurge
and see what it is happen...
Copy the files to c:\program files\ from c:\program files (x86)\ or vice versa?
I will go play trial and error.

Okay I copied the folder ObjectDCL ARX from c:\program files\ to c:\program files (x86)\ = Same results.

Then I copied the TotalPurge from c:\program files (x86)\ to c:\program files\ =  different results, it seem to be purging but no dialog and it crashed autocad with Unhandled Exception.  See below
I also got this at the command line when I appload the total purge. But again no dialog.

Quote
Command:
TotalPurge 2.0 By DuctiSoft inc. Loading ObjectDCL ARX... done.
ObjectDCL is not registered and will work only for selected applications.
Please visit http://www.objectdcl.com/ to learn about what more ObjectDCL
technology can do for you.
Command:

Thank you Krusher..

Ok,...for the error you have...it seem that is isn't the Routine.
Do you use more than simple AutoCAD vanilla ?

To have acces to the dialogbox you need to use "TPconfig" command.
Please take 2 min. to read the help file.  ^-^

For some reason..on some 64bits machine...the (getenv "programfiles") return "c:\Program files (x86)" and sometime "c:\program files" I've never undertood that....but thanks. I'll fix that on next release.

the ..".....ObjectDCL is not registered..." message mean that the ObjectDCL software it is not registred, but it never mind because it still working on signed project.

Thanks again for all your help and taking time to test and use my program.
it's like people like you that I can continue to learn and improve my knowledge.

Andrea.

No I am running Autocad Architecture 2010.

Okay I see it now.  for some reason I was expecting a dialog to pop up at the command call.  But this way is better.  My preferred way anyway.

For some reason..on some 64bits machine...the (getenv "programfiles") return "c:\Program files (x86)" and sometime "c:\program files" I've never undertood that....but thanks. I'll fix that on next release.
I actually get this error from time to time.  Autocad is ruining but I can do nothing because will not continue.  Very frustrating

Okay.

Oh one other thing.

When you are deleting xdata are you also deleting theRregapp IDs too?

Quote
When you delete an object with Extended Entity Data (xdata), a regapp ID remains in the application ID (APPID) symbol table. When a file contains excess unreferenced regapp IDs, performance and file size may be negatively affected. (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=11807875&linkID=9240618)

Just noted this...

The error below it is from an assembly - from one of the .NET programs that are running - if that's the case make a debug into your code...

See if helps.

dhatch doesn't work in autocad 2004
Andrea,
Those of us living in the dark ages (2005) would still like to be able to use this wonderful program.

Moderator,
Perhaps the TotalPurge could be another thread.
