Title: Label polylines (contours) at elevation
Post by: kc27315 on December 15, 2008, 01:04:23 PM
I'm using civil 3d.  Instead of a surface, I just have polylines at elevation.   I don't want to make a surface out of the polylines, but I do want to be able to label the elevations of the polylines by clicking on a polyline at the place I want the elevation to show up at.  Any suggestions?

Thanks.

You should be able to create a General Line/Curve label that uses the Z value for the segment start or segment end.

I went under General-Add Labels, and changed the feature to "Line and Curve".  What do I do from there?

Thanks.

I found a website that does what you're talking about.  It's http://civil3drocks.blogspot.com/2006/06/label-style-for-calling-out-elevation.html if anyone's interested.  It works great!!!!

Thanks for your help.  kc27315
