Title: Thumbnail back color

I have some code that extracts the thumbnail preview of a dwg file.
I notice that the back color is white in the preview and not black like the preview in the AutoCAD "open" dialog.
The same is true of viewing the thumbnails in Windows explorer when in "Thumbnail" view. Background is white.
Any idea what gives?
