Title: Sliding Doors
Post by: 42 on January 08, 2008, 04:00:10 PM
I am using ADT 2008
As a standard ADT has a pocket door showing the door sliding into the wall, what I want is for the door to slide along the face of the wall, well 50mm (2") away from it. Any leads on modifying the display?

Use a custom block for the door and modify it's position to be away from the wall...

ADT doesn't have a track door?

Thanks D2H. I have just managed to work this out myself!. Now I should remember.

ADT doesn't have a track door?

It has single and double pocket doors (mentioned above) which slides into the wall/jambs, or double and triple sliding doors which slide within the opening.
Adding custom blocks is fine but won't allow you to change the opening percentage (not that you would need to with that type of door I guess).

Or, it is time to draw the sliding doors' geometry, and then create a New door type from that linework.

How do you mean, a door style always has to use one of the predefined door types under the design rules (single, double, uneven, bi-fold, etc), you can create new geometry to form a profile to change the elevational shape of a door. Are you saying you can create new door types from linework to add to the list in the design rules?

Yes, that is exactly what I am saying, YOU can add door and window and wall styles to YOUR content library to reuse. Here are a couple links that hint at how it works.  Your current version of help will be a good guide as well.

Beware, unless it has been fixed, once you do this, it automatically places the geometry perpendicular to the plan view, you most likely just drew it in, and it appears to make the lines vanish.
