Title: Text, Mtext not working
Post by: jonesy on August 22, 2007, 05:32:33 AM
Any ideas for this one.

We have a user which has had 2007 loaded onto their machine and they have tried to create some text. The user cannot create any text, all that happens is AutoCAD returns to the command prompt. Is there any settings that I need to look at in 2007 which could possibly control the mtext box?

Many thanks in advance
Tracey

check what their text editor is set to
Tools > Options > Files Tab > Text Editor > Text Editor Application

should be Internal if using the inbuilt editor. If it's set to something else, check the path to the application is correct

I've seen that on 07 and 08, where commands just forget what to do.  Usually closing autocad and reopening fixes it for a while.

Seems to be the "magic cure" most of the time for when things go haywire in AutoCAD.

Works even better when you can then exit the building for two weeks on the beach.
