I searched the forums but didn't see anyone that had mentioned this so I thought I'd point it out. I apologize in advance if someone has already mentioned this
http://labs.autodesk.com/technologies/inventor_lt/
Big download unfortunately 900+ mb, and only available in US/Canada I guess.
However, not a bad way to get a "freeish" copy of Inventor at least for awhile.. according to the site it says "Once activated, Inventor LT Technology Preview will run until May 1, 2008."
I'm playing around with it to see how feasible it is to create some various millwork designs with it (not exactly it's intended purpose I suppose).

Kewwwl! I did not know that.
Will be D/L ing later when I get home (faster connection).
-
Unless this has changed it is only available to Canada/US.

I saw that a while ago, but was under the impression (not sure why), that it does parts only. No assemblies.
Am I wrong?
-
Yep. I thought so.

holy crap... what's the point of even using Inventor if you can't do assemblies?!
the sheet metal design absence would suck too... I liked that bit

I think the point of it was the LT version is like Autocad LT. You can do simple things but not everything. For viewing, marking up, translating it would work fine.
