Title: F1 key HELP!!!
Post by: whdjr on March 08, 2007, 03:16:39 PM
Is there any way to reassign the F1 key to say...NOTHING!!  Some of my users have fat fingers and hit the F1 key while trying to hit the ESC key.  I thought you could do it with the old menu structure but couldn't find it in the new CUI.

Any ideas?

yes...read this thread and search for the area that talks about reassigning f1 to cancel for 2006 (the first one is for 2005 and previous)

Or if you want to ensure that a pesky user saves more often than they do, you can assign it to Save.

Thanks guys.  It worked fine on mine but for some reason we had to use Shift+F1 in order to get it to be assigned to F1.

Go figure... :-o

Thats a darn pretty good idea...
as long as the users aren't working on super huge files that take minutes to save...
then that would be evil
