I wouldn't touch LDATA cos' you never know where it's been!
Seriously, LDATA is private to the lisp environment and even if it will be supported for as long as that environment exists it is hard to share with e.g. VBA.

XDATA is a steady and easy, despite the few limitations. If not being able to use dictionaries I'd go for XDATA.

Just 2 eurocents.

XDATA  ... not LDATA ... there have been some serious problems with LDATA in the past...

I used ldata with no problem. I found it easier to understand than xdata.

Ive never used either. (well i cant remember if i used 'em) but i never knew that Ldata was private to Lisp only. I just thought it was Xdata's predeasessor.

Serious problems? like saving donw to 14? (that is the only one ive heard of.) I dont know if really concider that a problem....? Well i supose it could be, but a disclamer and a "wiper progy" (to clear all ldata in a dwg) could take care of that.

The R14 issue and I seem to remember something about an ARX issue with proxy objects when the desktop program (i.e. MAP LDD ADT) is not loaded. I'll have to see if I can find that article again.
